Astro- und Feinwerktechnik Adlershof GmbH develops, manufactures, assembles and tests the components of position control systems, especially reaction wheels for small satellites. Over the past few years, we have developed a product line of five reaction wheels for small satellites. This ranges from the world's smallest commercial reaction wheel RW 1 (10 -4 Nms) to RW 250 (4 Nms). Reaction wheels RW90 and RW1 have already been successfully verified in space. The four RW90 reaction wheels are also used in the TET-1 small satellite (launched in 2012). Astro- und Feinwerktechnik Adlershof GmbH's reaction wheels are so-called intelligent reaction wheels. By combining state-of-the-art sensor technology and model-based control algorithms, the reaction wheel can be operated with high accuracy even at low speeds. This makes these reaction wheels an ideal solution for zero-angular momentum position control strategies.
